Top 20 Theme and Amusement Parks in Asia

Theme parks are a huge industry in Asia. Asia’s 20 top theme parks had an average of 141 million visitors, and theme parks are top-rated in Asia. But, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea were the top two destinations in the region. Other popular destinations included Universal Studios Japan, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland. 1. Tokyo Disneyland is located in Tokyo, Japan.

Tokyo Disneyland in Tokyo, Japan, is part of the Tokyo Disney Resort and opened on April 15th, 1983. The theme park houses 44 attractions and 48 retail outlets, and 54 restaurants and facilities for beverages. It covers 51 acres. Tokyo Disneyland has seven themed areas, including the famous Cinderella Castle.

The most considerable expansion ever in the history of Tokyo Disneyland opened in September 2020. It encompasses Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Toontown. Fantasyland introduced a ride, shop and F&B-themed rides for Beauty and the Beast. Tomorrowland is an additional attraction based on Disney’s Big Hero 6 and Minnie Mouse.

2. Tokyo DisneySea is located in Tokyo, Japan.

Tokyo DisneySea, located in Tokyo, Japan, launched on September 4th 2001. With a total area of 49 hectares, it includes 35 attractions and 40 retail outlets and 40 food and drinks facilities. The park is expanding its offerings with Fantasy Springs, the eighth Tokyo Disneysea port now set to open in 2023. The project was announced by Tokyo DisneySea, which released an unveiled video showing the most recent port.

3. Chimelong Ocean Kingdoms, Zhuhai

Chimelong Ocean Kingdoms is an amusement park located at Zhuhai. The marine animal attraction offers rides, shows, and animal exhibits spread across eight themed areas. This is part of Chimelong International Ocean Resort, which the Chimelong Group owns.

Chimelong Group also owns the Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort with two hotels: Chimelong Paradise, Chimelong Water Park, Chimelong Safari and International Circus. Su Zhigang founded the Chimelong Group’s first theme park in 2006. Chimelong’s resorts located in Guangzhou and Zhuhai offer world-class entertainment.

Additionally, Chimelong Group is building the Qingyuan Chimelong International Forest Resort and is launching the marine science park Zhuhai Chimelong Marine Science Park in 2021. This will become the most extensive indoor facility of its kind anywhere globally. It is one of the two-stage stages of the Chimelong International Ocean Resort.

4. Shanghai Disneyland, Disney parks, Shanghai

Shanghai Disneyland is operated by Disney parks, experiences, products, and Shanghai Shendi Group. It was opened in June of 2016 and is located in Pudong, Shanghai. It is part of the Shanghai Disney Resort, which comprises The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the Toy Story Hotel and the district of shopping and dining Disneytown.

It is growing to include the Immersive Zootopia Land, which will be its eighth themed area and the first Zootopia area in the Disney park.

5. Everland Seoul, South Korea

6. Lotte World Seoul, South Korea

Lotte World expanded into Busan by introducing Lotte Magic Forest, which was announced in 2018. Lotte Magic Forest is set for opening in 2021. It will have six themed zones inspired by nature, and it was developed with traditional entertainment in mind. The initial phase is scheduled to comprise more than twelve rides for families, along with two signature roller coasters.

7. Universal Studios Japan

The park is located in Osaka; Universal Studios Japan is among the most renowned theme parks around the globe. 19. China Dinosaurs Park, Changzhou, China

China Dinosaurs Park, also called China Dinosaurs Land, is situated within Changzhou, and it has been operating since September of 2000. The park is themed around dinosaurs and offers rides, shows, and an exhibit called the China Dinosaurs Museum. 

20. Happy Valley Shenzhen, Shenzhen, China

It was the very first Happy Valley attraction of OCT Group, the biggest operator of theme parks across China. It covers 353,000 square meters approx. Happy Valley Shenzhen boasts nine themed areas, which include one of them, the Playa Maya Water Park. OCT has more than 52 million people annually in its numerous locations.
