Amar Kutir

The ancient place was one an important refugee for independence and now serves as an amazing tourist place. Located on the banks of River Kopai the beautiful place has a rustic touch to it. The construction of the place took place in 1927 when Sushen Mukherjee met Gandhi Ji. It was a place made for independence movement activists and now serves as a place which promotes the crafts and beautiful art forms found in the region.

The Kankalitala temple

The temple town has been famous for being one of the 51 Shakti Peethas found in the entire country. The temple has its own religious significance and beautifully stands today in a relaxing atmosphere. As per the mythology believed by Hindus, when Lord Shiva carried the body of Goddess Sati one of her body parts fell here making the land scared. Located near the river Kopai the temple is a must to visit place in the district of Birbhum.

Santiniketan

A town filled with tourist attractions for sure. There are many a must to visit spots found here including the Visva-Bharati University which was established by the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The Poush Mela here again is very famous for being a huge fair inviting artisans, traditional tribal performances, folk songs and music with lots of fun for sure. There is a Ballabhpur Wildlife Sanctuary present here which is also known as the deer park is truly the real example of nature’s beauty. The Spotted deer resides here and the place also gets visited by many birds making it a well renowned bird sanctuary too.

Bakreswar

The place is renowned for its hot springs which are believed to have medicinal values and the famous Shiva temple present here. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also known as the Bakreswar temple and many pilgrims visit the place to seek the blessings of Mahadev. The temple is also surrounded with small shrines which are dedicated to Lord Shiva and the main temple also houses the deity of Goddess Kali. It is believed that when Lord Shiva carried the goddess Sati, her brows and forehead fell at the very spot where now the temple is present today.
