Simlipal national park is located in the northern part of the mayurbhanj district in Odisha. Simlipal is a wild beauty covering an area of around 2750 km. It covers three protected areas - simlipal tiger reserve, hadagarh wildlife sanctuary and kuldiha wildlife sanctuary. Simlipal is the home of the Bengal tiger, Asian elephants, gaur, and chausingha.

Simlipal national park

visiting Simlipal national park is a must. Enjoy the mindblowing biodiversity of flora and fauna. The park is the treasure house of 1076 plants, of which 96 are orchids. There are umpteen medicinal and aromatic plants that become the earning bread for tribals. There are 42 species of animals, 242 species of birds and 30 species of reptiles available in the national park. Beautiful flora complements the fauna as grasslands and savannas provide grazing lands to herbivores and hiding places for carnivores.

Barehipani waterfalls

The waterfalls are nature’s laughter, and Barehipani falls will give the same experience. It is considered one of the highest falls in India, falling with a height of 400m. It is emerging from the highest peak in reserve - the Meghasani peak. The area around Barehipani falls is the most beautiful site in reserve, with majestic dense green forests at the backdrop.

Jaranda falls

falling from the height of 150m, it is at the core area in reserve. You can spend time with your family enjoying the scenic beauty around.

Kuliana, Haripur and Deokund

you can visit these places in simlipal. Deokund is one of the religious places famous for its shrine dedicated to the goddess Ambika. Haripur was earlier the capital of Mayurbhanj state. Kuliana is one of the reserves where you can find palaeolithic art.
