The Parambikulam Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary

The lush green sanctuary is the most loved tourist spot in the region ads so much of effort has been put together to bring the sanctuary and run it smoothly. Palakkad has been blessed with this huge Tiger reserve and as the name goes by many tigers are safely living here making the place ranking high in tourism. The sanctuary is a perfect place for trekking and safari and animals like lion-tailed macaques, tigers, leopards, snakes, wild boars, king cobra, and much more are found here.

The Palakkad Fort

The majestic historical monument is been standing strong for over years now and is surrounded with greenery. The fort is famous for its stunning architecture and was constructed back in 1766 AD. It is one of the most greatly preserved forts and was built by Hyder Ali covering an area of 60,702 square meters. The fort is not only famous for its huge walls and unique carvings found but also will win your heart with its great historical significance. The Palakkad fort is a magnificent place with many temples including the Hanuman temple, and Anjaneya Swami Temple found here which makes the place very important for the Hindu worshippers too.

The Vadakkanthara temple

Also known as the Vadakkanthara Thirupuraikkal Bhagavathy Temple is a holy Hindu shrine which is dedicated to Goddess Karnaki. In many Tamil ancient scripts, the Goddess has been mentioned as very powerful women especially in Silapathikaram and this temple is the only temple in Kerala dedicated to the goddess. The temple also houses other Hindu God deities including lord Ganesh, Lord Nagaraj, Lord Ayyappa and many more in the smaller temples surrounding the main temple. The architecture of each of these temples is completely awesome and very much astounding.

The Silent Valley National Park

The beautiful national park with scenic views is a best place for a nature lover to spend some memorable time. The national park is filled with its lush green forests covers an area of 89 square kilometres. With surrounding huge mountains and fresh atmosphere, there is no sign of pollution here and you will feel every much calmed and relaxed here dure. The Silent Valley National Park provides Safari facilities and many animal species are found here. It includes elephant, wild pig, tiger, gaur, lion-tailed macaque, panther and many more.
