The Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple

The beautiful Hindu holy shrine is surrounded with water and is constructed in the Kerala style having a rich history. The temple was constructed back in 15th century by the king Chembakkassery Pooradam Thirunal Devanarayanan Thampuran and is famous for its intricate carvings. The holy shrine is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is famous for the Pal Payasam given here to all the worshippers visiting the temple.

The Alappuzha beach

The beautiful beach is one of the most visited places in the city and is famous for the relaxing atmosphere. The beach is well-maintained with clear water and absolutely looks remarkably during the sunrise and sunset times. Many events and festivals are organised here too like the famous Sand art festival along with the Nehru trophy boat race. The race is witnessed by many tourists and surely is amazing. The beauty of the beach will indeed leave you awe-struck and with, tourists can also enjoy the local food by the nearby food stalls found here

The Krishnapuram Palace

The massive magnificent palace was built by King Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma and has traditional touch to it with the ancient paintings and murals found here. There is also a museum present here and along with that tourist can enjoy the scenic views that the palace serves. The huge mural of Gajendra Moksha is found here which is around 53 square feet of area covered by it and the double-edged sword Kayamkulam Vaal is also placed here. You can find out about the rich history of the region by visiting the palace.

The Vembanad Lake

The lake is a perfect picnic spot to spend a nice sunny day with you loved ones. The locality of the lake is well maintained with lush greenery spread across it and visitors can enjoy the picturesque landscapes found here. The lake is the longest lake in the region and is also called as the Kochi lake. The Lagoon is reachable from Kottayam, Kochi and Kuttanad and thus it has many names depending on the region from where you visit the part of this lake.
