The Kolahoi glacier

The Amarnath yatra

It is one of the main reasons for many tourists especially worshippers flooding the beautiful region of Pahalgam. The Shravani Mela which gets organised here during the month of July is highly visited by many devotees and from July to August is the only time when you can visit the Amarnath caves. The Hindu shrine is believed to be one of the most sacred ones found and inside the cave is an ice stalagmite which is formed due to the water drops from the roof and it is considered as a Shiva Linga. The cave is around 130 ft high.

The Mamleshwara Temple

The renowned Hindu shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the famous pilgrimage sites ion the region. The temple is made of stones and was built by King Jayasima. Thousands of devotees of Lord Shiva visit this unique temple and it’s awe-striking intricate carvings and architecture gets highly appreciated by many. As per the belief the temple is constructed at the exact space where Lord Ganesh sat near the door for guiding it for Goddess Parvati. The holy shrine inside the temple complex is totally covered with gold and is known for its uniqueness.
