Binsar Trek

Binsar is a lovely flower-filled hill station with amazing views of the Kumaon Valley. The majestic Himalayan range spreads for roughly 300 kilometers over the horizon, with the Chaukhamba, Trishuli, Kedarnath, Panchchuoli, Nanda Kot, and Nanda Devi being the most visible peaks. Binsar is a very popular destination for tourists, and on most days during the summer months, it is completely packed with people.

The Binsar hike allows you to wander through enchanting landscapes while learning about the local culture. It all starts at Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a diverse range of animals and plants. It was built to protect the dwindling oak woodlands and is located at an average elevation of 7913 feet above sea level. Aside from oak, the protected area features dense forests of pine and deodar trees, which are home to a variety of animal species. Leopards, ghorals, musk deer, jungle cats, and barking deer are some of the most common animals seen here.

The Binsar expedition is a thrilling adventure, and hikers can take in the breathtaking scenery during the journey. Hanging moss, ferns, alpine vegetation, diverse species of wildflowers, and woodlands with rhododendron and oak trees surround Binsar. If you enjoy bird watching, a journey through Binsar will expose you to a variety of gorgeous and unique birds. The trail is easy to follow, leading to little streams and lush green fields, but be aware of lion ants and tunnel spiders.

Binsar hiking takes you to the famous temples of Jageshwar, adding a religious dimension to your already incredible adventure. The complex contains approximately 100 stone temples, the majority of which once held Lord Shiva images. According to Hindu scriptures, Jageshwar is home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas or light pillars. According to legendary stories, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma once quarreled about who was the most significant deity. Lord Shiva arrived as a bright light to settle the debate, and the two disputing Gods were tasked with locating its source.

This expedition allows you to access these shrines by walking through the mountains rather than taking the road. This will enable you to appreciate the region’s natural splendor while also inhaling the delightful scents of deodar and pine trees. In addition, there are various streams along the journey through Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and towards Jageshwar, where you can sit, relax, and be refreshed.
