Things to carry

Trekking is an adventurous sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and physical fitness. It is a great way to explore nature and get some exercise in the process. But trekking is not just about hiking and going from one place to another. You also need to carry certain things with you so that you are prepared for any situation that may arise during your trekking experience.

The following are some things that you should carry when you go on a trek:

Food: Food is an important part of any trek. If you are planning to go on a long trip, then it is better to carry food from home or buy it from a supermarket before reaching your destination.

Water Bottle: A water bottle is essential for any type of trek. It can be used to store liquid as well as other things like food items, medicines, etc. A large water bottle will be helpful in case it rains or there is no water available nearby.

First Aid Kit: This kit should include bandages, antiseptic cream, painkillers, and other medicines required for minor injuries. The kit should also include a snake bite antidote kit as well as insect repellents if needed.

Torch: This is another thing that you should definitely carry along with you during your trekking trip. It helps you to find your way back in the dark and also helps in locating any trail which might get lost from view due to thick bushes or trees in the jungle area.

Knife: This is also an important item that should be taken along with you during a trekking trip as it can be used for various purposes like cutting ropes and wires etc., which might come in between your path during the journey or for emergency purposes like cutting cloths when needed etc.,

Backpack: If you are trekking with a group or if you want to carry a lot of stuff, then take a large backpack. But if you are going solo then a small backpack will be enough. And, don’t forget to take comfortable shoes.

Tent: If you are going on long treks and camping at night, then it is important for you to carry a tent along with you. But if your trek is short and you plan on staying at hotels, then it is better not to carry one.

Sleeping Bag/Mattress: A tent may not always be available and so carrying a sleeping bag will come in handy when there’s no place for sleeping. You can also use the mattress instead of the sleeping bag if you have no extra space in your backpack.

Sleeping Mat: Sleeping mat is another essential item that should be carried along with you on treks because without it sleeping will become difficult due to hard ground surfaces or rocky areas where people sit while having their food or tea breaks during treks or climbs.

Best time to travel

The best time to go on a trek is from June to October. The summers are very pleasant and the best time to enjoy the beauty of the Himalayan region. The monsoon season starts in June and ends in September, but these months are not ideal for trekking because of heavy rains and snowfall. The Winter season is from January till March, which is also not recommended for trekking due to heavy snowfall.
